The Far-ir View of Sgr B2 and Orion Kl: Template Star-forming Regions
We summarize the main highlights from ISO observations towards Sgr B2 and Orion KL in the far–IR domain (∼43 to 197μm). Both Star–Forming Regions are among the best sources to construct a template for more distant and unresolved regions (e.g., extragalactic). We stress some peculiarities in the interpretation (excitation and radiative transfer) of far–IR spectral lines and dust continuum emission.
متن کاملPumping of OH Main-Line Masers in Star-Forming Regions
Pumping routes of masers can in principle be recovered from a small matrix of master equations, at an advanced stage of elimination, by tracing back the coefficients to a set of unmodified all-process rate coefficients, drawn from those which appeared in the original set of master equations, prior to any elimination operations. The traceback is achieved by logging the operations carried out on ...
متن کاملStar-forming protoclusters associated with methanol masers
We present a multiwavelength study of five methanol maser sites which are not directly associated with a strong (>100 mJy) radio continuum source: G 31.28+0.06, G 59.78+0.06, G 173.49+2.42 (S231, S233IR), G 188.95+0.89 (S252, AFGL5180) and G 192.60-0.05 (S255IR). These radio-quiet methanol maser sites are often interpreted as precursors of ultracompact H regions or massive protostar sites. I...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis of Water Masers in Star-forming Regions: Cepheus a and W75 N
We have done a statistical analysis of Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) data of water masers in the star-forming regions (SFRs) Cepheus A and W75 N, using correlation functions to study the spatial clustering and Doppler-velocity distribution of these masers. Two-point spatial correlation functions show a characteristic scale size for clusters of water maser spots .1 AU, similar to the values fo...
متن کاملProper Motions of Oh Masers and Magnetic Fields in Massive Star-forming Regions
We present data of proper motions of OH masers in the massive star-forming regions ON 1, K3-50, and W51 Main/South. OH maser motions in ON 1 are consistent with expansion at approximately 5 km s−1, likely tracing the expanding ultracompact H II region. Motions in K3-50 are faster and may be indicating the final stages of OH maser emission in the source, before the OH masers turn off as the H II...
